You are my sunshine, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Mary had a little lamb, Baa, Baa, Black Sheep, Baby Bumblebee are a few songs I remember singing as a child. I’m sure many have sung these songs to their children. I did.

Remember Itsy Bitsy Spider? When our children were small, we moved into a house that had been empty for some time. The spiders had claimed it as their own. I’m not a fan of spiders.

One day as I was busy putting things away, my 4-year-old walked into the room with one arm covered with multiple colors of ink. Frustrated, I asked, “Why did you mark all over your arm?” Wide-eyed, he said, “I didn’t. It was a Rainbow Spider.”

That little marked up boy stirred up the imagination of this writer, and Rainbow Spider was born.

History of Rainbow Spider: Published as an e-book in 2000. We didn’t have e-book readers like we do today. E-books were read on computers or personal digital assistants (PDAs). I still have a few CD-ROMs of the book. It was exciting to see a new avenue for books, but it had its issues. I’m grateful for the evolving market and grateful that we still have printed books.

With the change of the e-book market, I put Rainbow Spider away, waiting for the right time to re-introduce the book.

Rainbow Spider is now published on Amazon as an e-book and in print. The print format also includes a coloring book.
